Abstract

The influence of hydrolytic lignin (HL) and products of its modification on molluscs and maize was investigated. The initial HL was found to possess toxicity and mutagenicity to molluscs and maize. The processing of HL by electrical gas discharge and electrohydraulitic attack in water medium remove its toxic and mutagenic effects on both biological objects and promote appearance of growth-stimulate effect on maize. The observed HL positive effects after noted modifications possibly relate to decrease of its molecular weight and increase of acid groups content.
