Biomass dynamics of phytoplankton, Epischura and Cyclops in years of the maximum number in pelagic zone of Southern Baikal

Abstract
Biomass dynamics of phytoplankton, of a dominating endemic species of the Baikal zooplankton of Epischura baicalensis Sars (Copepoda, Calanoida) and a mass species Cyclops kolensis Lill (Copepoda, Cyclopoida) in years of their maximum number in a layer of 0-50 m in pelagic zone of Southern Baikal during 1981-2007 were studied. It is confirmed that a phytoplankton as primary producer is defining the dynamics of full trophic chain in Baikal.
