Abstract

The ecological state of natural and anthropogenic landscapes of Irkutsk and its environs has been analyzed. The influence of natural and anthropogenic factors on the environment, on the formation and properties of soils, on the biological diversity and productivity of natural systems, their natural resource potential was studied. During the course of research at the territory of the city, a number of negative processes of anthropotechnical pressure were noted: the increasing of atmospheric air pollution with sulfur dioxide, increasing of the density of the upper soil horizons, the depletion of soil absorbing complex with plant nutrition elements, the increasing of the amount of heavy metals (except for forest Park soils), soil alkalinization (especially for areas with the highest density of development and near thermal power plants), which leads to decrease in the removal of heavy metals and, consequently, to an increase in soil pollution. As a result of a strong anthropogenic-technogenic transformation of the soil cover at the city of Irkutsk, which causes a change of the basic soil-forming processes and chemical status of urban soils, a large part of the city today is occupy by anthropogenically transformed soils (urbanized soils, urbanozems, ekranozems, necrozems) and technogenic superficial formations (quasizems, replantazems, urbiquasizems, naturalfabricates, refabricate, etc.). And in the industrial urban areas, highly modified chemically, the industrizems (stratozems, abrazems, chemozems, etc.) are formed. The analysis and assessment of the ecological stability of the studied landscapes and the typification of soil-geological-geomorphological landscape complexes, identified by the type of their relative stability, were carried out. The map-scheme of the allocated complexes within the city of Irkutsk has been made, with taking account of the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors, soil, vegetation, geological rocks, topography, surface and underground water flow. Complexes of gray, dark gray, and meadow-Chernozem soils of I and II river terraces with alluvial-deluvial deposits of the Holocene and late Pleistocene and shallow groundwater (2-5 m) are relatively highly stable. The most highly resistant of the soil-geological-geomorphological complexes are ecosystems of floodplains and low-lying areas of the 1st terrace with alluvial Holocene deposits, shallow groundwater (from 2 to 5 m) with a soil cover represented by a combination of meadow-Chernozem soils, gleezems, alluvial humus and dark humus soils. The obtained factual material will allow for a more detailed account of the degree of soil and landscape stability in the determining of prerequisites and directions for optimizing of the use of territories, in carrying out of various engineering, construction and other works, in determining the limits of recreational load on landscapes, in forming the environmental infrastructure of the city and in application of innovation and green urban planning.
