A brief review of geological and geomorphological characteristics of the sampling sites in the near-shore zone of Bol’shye Koty Bay, Southern Baikal

Abstract
This paper describes geological and geomorphological characteristics of the near-shore zone of Bol’shye Koty Bay, accumulation and distribution of debris material in the splash zone, and changes of its relief. During this study we focused on monthly interdisciplinary investigations at 4 standard sections of the splash zone: a beach north of Chernaya Valley, Peshcherka Bay, Field Station of the Limnological Institute (LIN SB RAS) (Zhilishche Valley) and Varnachka Valley.
