Microevolution of Baikal Sable Martes zibellina

Abstract
During last 20 years production of light color sables was increased in the Irkutsk region. It raises a question of revealing the reason of «lightening» of indigenous dark sable forms. Phylogeographic analysis of sable populations from the main commercial areas of the Irkutsk regionand the FarEast showed the lackof genetic variability that could arise as a result of introgression during the re-introductionactivities in the Far East.
