The article submits some results of study concerning construction inside courtyards in Irkutsk. The spaces of courtyards is understood as the most important factor to forming the comfortable living conditions of population. Author developed a method for comprehensive evaluation of courtyards, using specified criteria. Substance of this method is determining of weighted coefficient of comfortability for spaces of courtyards. In regard to some kind of green spaces inside the courtyards was analyzed their living conditions and resistance to influence of benzo(a)pyrene. According to the analysis, author proposed a classification for trees plantations and shrub plantings in Irkutsk on the basis of their stability. Author developed techniques, which allow to improve the parameters of comfortability for space of courtyards, by creating a sustainable green spaces. These techniques include some recommendations about engineering and landscape accomplishment of territories for the identified morphotypes of courtyards in Irkutsk.
